IN VITRO FERTILISATION (IVF) is an everchanging dynamic field that has undergone many milestones over the past 5 decades. Since, the time the 1st ever conceived IVF baby Louise Brown was born in 1978, there has been a sea change in the technology of IVF and infertility management. Also, the IVF technique has evolved rapidly to give better success rates, pregnancies and live births. Therefore, it is important that we update our techniques and equipment to give our clients the best facilities and success rates.
We at Mediheal Group of hospitals since 2014 have had a tremendous surge in the number of clients coming for IVF as a result of our very good success rates. We are currently operating at three centres for assisted reproduction – Nairobi and Eldoret in Kenya. Kigali in Rwanda. We manage treatment for 1200 couples annually and have a success rate of 60-70% clinical pregnancy rate. At the time of writing this article, there have been 6000 babies born through IVF treatment in our Mediheal Group hospitals in East Africa. Due to our impeccable reputation in this region for quality management and success rates in the management of infertility we have been encouraged to set up highly specialized centres in other parts of Kenya, as well as in Uganda and DRC, with an aim to offer quality care management of Infertility. We have a big team of IVF specialists, trained and expert Embryologists, and specialized IVF Nurses and Counselors, to ensure that we achieve success in our endeavours and put our best step forward for humanity and procreation.
At Mediheal Group fertility centres we believe that every childless or infertile couple should be blessed with offspring and in our efforts for that we also have set up State of the Art IVF laboratories with the latest equipment and cutting-edge technology so as to enhance our success rates and provide our best to our clients. We also have incorporated newer techniques in our treatment protocols from medications, injections and procedures such as Blastocyst culture, Laser-Assisted hatching, pre-conceptional genetic screening and diagnosis.
