Shortwave Diathermy (SWD)

Shortwave Diathermy (SWD)

Shortwave Diathermy uses high-frequency electromagnetic energy either in pulsed or continuous
energy waves to generate heat. It is typically used as an alternative to ultrasound when a wider
area of heat application is required. The electric pulse of Shortwave Diathermy creates heat deep
inside a targeted tissue, reaching areas as deep as two inches from the skin’s surface.
